Crafted from fine handspun Himalayan Giant Nettle (Allo) yarn, each wash cloth is individually hand-knitted by villagers in the Sankhuwasabha district of Eastern Nepal.
Naturally textured, nettle fibre provides gentle exfoliation while washing the face or body, making this a simple, natural alternative to conventional wash cloths.
Every stage of production — from harvesting and retting the wild nettle to spinning the fibre and knitting the finished cloth — is carried out by hand, preserving traditional skills and supporting slow, small-scale craft.
The natural shades and texture vary slightly from piece to piece, giving each cloth its own unique character. Finely spun and closely knitted, it is finished with a practical corner loop for hanging and drying.
